What is Biomass?

Biomass is biological material that is used as a renewable energy resources from plant or plant-derived materials. Biomass can be used directly or can be convered into energy products such as biofuel.

Biomass power plants burn biomass fuel in boilers to heat water and turn steam turbines, which in turn produces electricity. Biomass fuel is anything from landfill trash to wood.
